YeahWrite’s super challenge has kicked off!

We had two days to write a 1,000-word story from an image and dialogue prompt. The image prompts were interesting.

I can’t say anything about my story due to the contest’s T&Cs, but I had a fun time thinking about my story.

I look forward to Wednesday, April 24, and they’ll announce who’s moving on to the next round at noon US Eastern Time.

My story, Tyranny in Taffeta, follows Zoë Fletcher and her friend, Amelia Harwood, as they enjoy a “Hen Do” in a luxurious London spa.

Packed with sharp wit and biting humor, this story explores the lengths we go for friends, the absurdities of modern weddings, and a bride’s expectations.

It’s funny and anything but relaxing.

The judges, however, didn’t agree — bummer! I’ll probably tweak the story and use it somewhere else. For now, onward and upward!
