NYC Midnight’s 2024 500-Word Flash Fiction Challenge

It’s round one of NYC Midnight’s 2024 500-Word Flash Fiction Challenge!

Over the weekend, 3,896 writers participated in the latest NYCM Challenge. They were organized into 95 groups, each containing approximately 41 writers.

My group was #69, and we were assigned the prompts:

Sci-Fi, Barging In, and Bulletproof Glass.

My story, Loose Ends, takes us on sci-fi military suspense featuring Major Hana Harlan, a psychic SAC/SIGINT agent using remote viewing to gain intelligence for the CIA.

It’ll take a few months for the competition to be judged.

More soon!

2024.09.04

The results for the first round are out, and I didn’t place enough to move on to the second round. However, the story did receive an honorable mention, and that’s okay with me!
